Boiling Water Resistant (BWR grade):
This plywood is preferred for both indoor and outdoor application. BWR plywood is used indoors in kitchen and bathroom where water exposure is high as well as outdoors due to its ability to withstand erratic weather conditions. Exterior wall cladding and outdoor staircase are commonly exposed to water and BWR plywood fights water exposure due to its waterproof properties. BWR plywood sheets are the mid-range price segment products in India, and don’t offer the complete solution that BWP grade can offer.
Marine Plywood (Marine grade):
Marine plywood is considered as BWP or Boiling Water Proof ply by carpenters because it is waterproof to a great extent.
The main uses of plywood has been to make furniture, shelves, storage cabinets, wardrobes, etc., for which MR grade plywood is most commonly preferred. For water exposed areas like kitchen and bathroom, BWP plywood is recommended. BWP grade is unanimously considered to be the best in class grade of plywood in India.
